Thanks Scott. I heartily agree with Mayor Sanders’ approach to needle abusers. Privatizing is a good way to make the provider accountable instead of letting some municipal agency run out of control. It also has the potential to save money in the long run since the contractor won’t have a hand in the government’s zero-based budget, self-perpetuating bureaucratic schemes forever. Someone will actually have to sign off every dime the citizens pay to them. And, if the contractor doesn’t perform, it can/should be fired!

I just hope that it doesn’t turn into another fraud like the consultants the City Council is using to cover up and delay prosecution of their pension crimes.
