Not that there’s any reason to be out in the water – it’s a cool August day and there’s no swell – but a head’s up anyway. South Casa Beach in La Jolla has a water contact advisory posted by the county’s Department of Environmental Health.
The beach is just south of Children’s Pool, home of the La Jolla seals. That area has been under an advisory since about the time Linda Tripp started making secret recordings of a White House intern named Monica. (That’s September 1997, for anyone who’s historically challenged.)
Other advisories are posted in Pacific Beach at P.B. Point and at Cardiff State Beach, near the San Elijo Lagoon outlet. Moonlight Beach in Encinitas had been under an advisory; it was lifted today.
