It was a full house at the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp. board meeting this morning. Barely room for everyone to sit down. Airport ballot measure proponents and opponents made short presentations to a well informed and well prepared group of local CEOs, followed by a period of questions and answers. After much discussion, the board voted to endorse the airport ballot measure by an overwhelming margin.

This is the kind of support one would expect from the business community on this issue. But one has to wonder, where is the voice of the tourism and convention industry? Over half the people who arrive at Lindbergh Field are tourists, cruise passengers or conventioneers.
