Coli Infections Hit San Diego.” My newspaper, ESPRESSO, San Diego’s Coffeehouse & Cafe Newspaper, has long urged both the coffee trades and the public to avoid all raw dairy products because they’re dangerous to health. Davis’ piece illustrates just one of the many pathogens that feed on raw dairy; tuberculosis, parasites and myriad other bacteriae, viri and other nasty things are often grown in milk in labs for study and are too often found in raw milk bottles on shelves in trendy markets. You’re far better off sticking to the pasteurized stuff, especially when you keep it below 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
