Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 | Gee, how come Rob Davis didn’t quote the New York Times today in his story re: the Copley sale of Midwest papers? The Times yesterday reported the most recent circulation decline of the U-T as 3.5 percent, smaller than all but a handful of the country’s other top 25 newspapers. Usually you publish every word about SD carried by an out-of-town paper. Why not now? Could it be because then you couldn’t have published those ridiculous circulation decline numbers Davis actually carried in his story?

My main question is, why are you guys so scared of the U-T that you go so far out of your way to try to make it look bad? If it’s so bad, won’t that take care of itself?
