Rep. Brain Bilbray is way out in front of Francine Busby in the race for California’s 50th Congressional District, according to a new poll released this weekend.
Bilbray garnered 55 percent of the vote compared to Busby’s 41 percent, according to a Survey USA poll of 550 likely voters last week. Commissioned by KGTV Channel 10, the poll has a 4.2 percent margin of error and indicates that Bilbray’s lead has widened since the company’s last survey. That October poll showed the congressman with 49 percent and Busby at 46 percent of 581 likely voters with a 4.2 percent margin of error.
In June, Bilbray defeated Busby, 49 percent to 44 percent, winning the House seat for the remaining six months of disgraced former congressman Randy ‘Duke’ Cunningham’s term in office. Tomorrow’s vote will decide who fills the full two-year term in the district.
