This story comes from Fred Sainz, Mayor Jerry Sanders’ spokesman:

My co-worker (Eileen Brennan) tells me that at her polling place in Point Loma a 90 year old lady showed up to vote and was in line right in front of her. Apparently, younger people were taking paper ballots when offered the opportunity to choose between the Diebold machine and paper ballots. When it came time for her to choose, the old lady didn’t think twice – it was the electronic voting machine. She called it “a chance of a lifetime” to vote electronically and said she now had bookends to her life. Almost no electricity when she was born (and no suffrage – yet) to now being able to vote – electronically. I thought it was a cute story.
