Here are some new numbers on several House races, courtesy of CNN, that some political consultants think might be harbingers for the election in the 50th District.
The news is good for Busby so far.
In Kentucky’s 3rd District, CNN has called the race in favor of John Yarmuth, the Democratic challenger, over Anne Northrup, the Republican incumbent. Yarmuth has 51 percent of the vote while Northrup has 48 percent with all precincts reporting.
CNN is also predicting that Democrat Joseph Donnelly will beat Republican Rep. Chris Chocola in Indiana’s 2nd District. Chocola has 47 percent and Donnelly has 53 percent with 83 percent of precincts reporting.
In Indiana’s 9th District, Democrat Baron Hill will defeat Republican Rep. Michael Sodrel, according to CNN. Hill Has 49 percent while Sodrel has 47 percent with 66 percent reporting.
In Connecticut, Republican Rep. Robert Simmons leads Democrat Joseph Courtney by two points with 51 percent of the tally in the 2nd District. So far 23 percent of precincts have reported.
Finally, Republican Rep. Christopher Shays has 56 percent and Democrat Diane Farrell has 43 percent with 4 percent of precincts reporting in Connecticut’s 4th District.
