Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 | “Miramar: What Went Wrong” really should have read: Miramar: What Went RIGHT. Nowhere was the human factor, the viable communities surrounding the airport, mentioned as a good reason to relocate the airport somewhere else. In a David and Goliath campaign, David won this time. Putting a 24/7 airport in the middle of Scripps Ranch, Tierrasanta, and University City is like putting a grenade in a kid’s lunchbox.

This whole election has been about “we the people” insisting on the politicians and political forums like the airport authority listening to the locals. Miramar: What Went Right is a story about how the Marines won and protected us from the bureaucrats. Thank you to the Marines at MCAS this Veterans Day.
