Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 | Cushman for reappointment to the Port Commission…give me a break! This is the man who told us taxpayers when that fiscal miscreant, Jack McGrory, did us in with the Charger ticket guaranty that we taxpayers would never have to cough up a dime because he, as the Chairman of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, along with those dudes at the SD International Sports Council, would see to it that the business community would buy all the tickets necessary to “cover” that guaranty. But when the time came to put his money where his mouth was, all of a sudden he suffered from the longest “senior moment” on record and we taxpayers coughed up some $35,000,000 which could’ve gone into the SDCERS coffers instead. Cushman is long on talk and way short on performance. So let him ride off into his retirement sunset without being able to enjoy all those Port Commissioner perks!

Hasta La Vista, Mr. Cushman, as our Governator likes to say!
