Listen to the treacly tone of this press release from the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. If the release is any clue, this airport board may be slightly less controversial than its predecessor.

A commitment to collaboration and reaching out to the region emerged as the dominant theme at an all-day retreat held today by the new Board of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.

“Today’s retreat confirmed that this Board is committed to doing what is best for the region while we work with other agencies and aviation stakeholders in a transparent, collaborative fashion,” said Airport Authority Board Chair Alan Bersin. “This will be a dialogue in the truest sense of the word. We will invite these partners to the table to seek mutual solutions to this region’s air transportation needs.”
