Monday, March 19, 2007 | I’m a taxpayer and city employee. The pension issue is decided. It’s time to stop going after city employees and their legally negotiated benefits. The courts have spoken and they have come down on the side of law not politics. It’s time to move forward and focus the city’s energy and resources in a constructive not destructive way. I think city leaders should take this opportunity to show their support for the taxpayers and their work force. It’s time for San Diego’s leaders to say no more. We are not going to cannibalize ourselves. We will not continue to throw away millions of dollars on ill-conceived legal shenanigans. We can turn a corner here.
