Wednesday, March 21, 2007 | The Sunrise Powerlink is a very bad idea and I am sorry to see Lisa Cohen, CEO of the Chula Vista Chamber touting it as beneficial for her city. Does she realize that this powerlink will march across the Anza Borrego State Park on up to 150 foot high towers, destroying views, peace and quiet, and wildlife habitat? There is also controversy about how green and clean this power will be.

It is too bad that these projects pit one group against another. I know it is her job to boost Chula Vista, and a developed waterfront is a terrific idea, but not at the expense of our beautiful desert.
