Councilman Ben Hueso’s household owns three properties in the southern part of San Diego inside his council district, according to the statement of economic interest he recently filed with the city clerk.
Hueso didn’t report any income outside of his council salary but said he attended several dinner events at others’ expense. The Centre City Development Corp. and one of its trustees, Kim Kilkenny; members of San Diego Gas & Electric; the Urban Corps of San Diego; and the San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce all treated Hueso to dinner events.
Also, the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce, which is trying to prevent rezoning the Otay Mesa area into residential, and Centex Homes, which is making the push to include more housing there, both picked up tabs for dinners Hueso attended.
