A Chollas View charter elementary school has closed its doors two years after setting up shop, blaming low enrollment.

The Fanno Academy Charter School, an African-themed school that opened in 2005, targeted underserved populations in southeast San Diego, though it was open to all students in the district. In a July 11 letter to the San Diego Unified School District, which awarded its charter, the school said it had too few students to continue.
