Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 | Scott Lewisexcellent article on Scott Peters prompted me to ask voiceofsandiego.org to look into the paid parking dispute in La Jolla, and Peters’ role in it. In 2005, a small group of people went to the city manager’s office and managed to change the La Jolla Community Plan from a residential area to a parking district. This was done with zero publicity. We discovered it in the latter part of 2007. There is a strong grass-roots movement against this plan, and it includes many established businesses. An in-depth media investigation is needed. We hope you will look into it — and perhaps take it on.
