This recent folly of spending millions of the taxpayers’ dollars on affordable housing is another one of the programs sending the city down the tubes. Just this week the media was showing Mayor Sanders giving $5,000,000 for more affordable housing. I say those who can qualify for a loan have the opportunity of a lifetime right now to buy a home of their choice and really own it and it won’t cost the taxpayers a dime. San Diego needs to get out of the housing business. There are millions of dollars taken from the general fund (streets, cops, parks) and given to a few who have not made it on their own.
