Wake up, San Diego, and smell the coffee! If this wasn’t so much like an episode of “Keystone Kops,” you’d have to cry as you said bye-bye to your money and community identity, Grantville. Then toss in the Westfield decision to the mix. UTC is green all right, but it’s the money and not the environment that will be served at City Hall.
On another note, the Regents Road bridge will no doubt be a cost overrun with ruination for Rose Canyon. Kate Sessions is turning over in her grave. Do you trust the folks in City Hall to build that bridge? By then many of the leaders will be long gone, their legacies of largess to developers forgotten.
Will Council President Scott Peters point with pride at Westfield’s UTC and the bridge? He’ll point at it from his estate in La Jolla because he won’t be able to drive on Genesee Avenue or on the gridlocked bridge, devastating both the north and south sides of University City.
