So, it’s back to where we started after a day of drama on the seal front.
The governor stepped in and signed into law legislation drafted by Sen. Christine Kehoe that gives the city full authority over the La Jolla Children’s Pool.
That means attorneys for seal advocates will likely secure an injunction against a judge’s order, issued this morning, that the city disperse the pinnipeds within 72 hours.
The issue will now go before the City Council, which is expected to declare the pool a seal sanctuary.
The City Attorney’s Office has planned a press conference for tomorrow morning, where the office will explain what it believes the governor’s signature means.
