Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009 | Authority Chairman Bob Watkins behavior is inexcusable. He should be fired if he doesn’t have the grace or sense to resign. And it looks like he may not. As a highly successful and wealthy businessman himself, he knows very well the liabilities associated with employees who publicly lie. They are instantaneously of no value to their employer or the employer’s customers — in this case, us, the people of San Diego. Looks like his recent snide, condescending and utterly stupid remark about being audited by a junior IRS agent was not only a foolish PR move but also designed to divert attention from his own lie.
