It’s a little spooky in the office right now. We’re low on bodies with the holidays coming up and working on some good stuff for the New Year, when more of you users and readers are back in town and in front of your computer screens, phones, tablets or whatever.

With that in mind, here’s what you can expect from us with the holidays rapidly approaching.  Our office is going to be closed Dec. 24 and 25, and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 for the holidays.

We’ll be publishing new content regularly through Wednesday evening both this week and next week. Aside from a holiday edition of the Morning Report and perhaps some additional blog posts, we won’t be regularly publishing on those holidays like we do on normal weekdays.

There are two basic reasons for that: You’re normally pretty busy with your own life and not checking for news too often and our hard-working but small staff needs a breather.

Between now and the New Year, however, our beat reporters will each be publishing a “What’s Next” post outlining the questions they’ll be asking on their beats and the stories and trends they’ll be watching for in 2010. Keep an eye out for those and let me know if they’re helpful.

We’re incredibly excited for the New Year, when we’ll have a fresh batch of new projects and initiatives to offer. Until then, thank you for all of your support, and Happy Holidays.
