Floatopia, the weekend fiesta in Mission Bay, looked like a sunny, boozy, all-around hell of a time, judging by the Union-Tribune’s photos from the event.

The next day, though? Not so much. Tony Manolatos, the spokesman for City Councilman Kevin Faulconer, who represents the area, sent over these photos that San Diego Police took around the bay.

“It’s very unfortunate to see people trashing the bay like this. And this is just what we can see,” Manolatos said. (The U-T noted the litter and volunteer cleanup efforts in its story.)

Faulconer’s cool with Floatopia continuing, Manolatos said, as long as people are safe (lifeguards reported several rescues) and don’t trash the bay (judge for yourself whether that happened).
