Just got off the phone with Bill Harris, the spokesman for San Diego’s storm water department. I told him about the erroneous commercials that are running encouraging residents to water as much as four times a week for as long as 12 minutes. (That’s illegal under the current water restrictions.)
Harris said the commercials are old and predated the restrictions. Storm water employees are on the phone right now with local radio and television stations telling them to pull those specific commercials.
“Good catch,” Harris said. “They’re coming down.”
