I spent some time the other day photographing Ben Cary, an 11-year-old Marvin Elementary student with autism. A photo of him working with aide Michael Brown ran along with Emily Alpert’s story about mainstreaming students with disabilities into ordinary classes.

This is an outtake from the shoot that had much more emotion but didn’t capture Emily’s particular story as well. I liked it nonetheless and wanted to share.
