Oh, headline. You were one of my favorites, so timeless and pithy. Remember when I wrote you on deadline in 2008?
Want to Recycle That Yogurt Cup? Not So Fast, Pal.
You’re timeless no more, pal. The city of San Diego announced Monday that it’s now accepting yogurt cups (and other plastic tubs with lids) for recycling. Not in blue bins, though, but at a facility at the Miramar Landfill. (North of State Route 52 at 5165 Convoy Street, before the landfill’s entrance.) It accepts them for free and won’t pay for them.
Wondering what can be taken there now? The city says:
The plastic tubs generally have a pry-off lid rather than a screw top and mostly contain food packaging such as yogurt and other dairy products. Household products and pet litter are also sold in the tubs.
