I totally disagree with the mayor regarding library cuts. In times of austerity I would keep the libraries open longer hours rather than limit hours. The libraries support childrens’ learning, family development and small group meetings. For myself, an elder, the libraries provide the books and reading material that feed my intellect and soul. At a time when reading itself is a threatened activity, it is unconscionable that a community would consider closing libraries: such a statement of disconnect from values!
