Shooting stories in partnership with San Diego Magazine has really been a huge win for this one-man photo department.

Of course, it’s been great to see my photos laid out across a couple of pages in a big, bright magazine. But, I’ve also been put in really interesting situations on all these assignments.

It’s allowed me to get in a helicopter above Del Mar, put me in some other heart-pumping situations you’ll learn about in future issues and, recently, landed me inside the massive pipe organ at the Spreckels Organ Pavillion.

Kelly Bennett wove the narrative of the city’s civic organist, Carol Williams, and these are some of the images I shot that day, as well. You can pick up this month’s San Diego Magazine for the full package and see how the photos look laid out in the magazine at the bottom of the post.
