In financial disclosure filings to education oversight officials, San Diego school officials incorrectly described their ability to reopen a three-year contract with labor unions. Citing a flawed comparison by the San Diego County Civil Grand Jury, The New Yorker overstated the size of San Diego’s projected pension costs.
