From the Reporter
The Vision
The nonprofit San Diego Foundation wants the public to have a larger role in plotting how San Diego will grow up as it accommodates 1.4 million more people by 2050.
The Strategy
The foundation plans to invest millions to create a long-term vision for San Diego, and implement it by working with politicians and policymakers and through grants.
The Bigger Picture
In charging itself with that task, the foundation is stepping into a void it believes has been created by a lack of capability or trust in government and business.
