This edition of Fact Check TV in partnership with NBC7 San Diego examines claims by mayoral candidate Nathan Fletcher and Jerry Gray, an industrial business owner in Barrio Logan.
During a mayoral forum, Fletcher claimed that bureaucratic problems had stalled repairs at a La Jolla lifeguard tower for eight years. We rated the statement Barely True because he “misidentified the timeframe and overemphasized the city’s red tape.”
And while pushing to favor industrial business in a hotly contested community plan update, Gray incorrectly described how much vacant industrial land exists in Barrio Logan. He used an outdated statistic that doesn’t actually measure vacant land.
