This edition of Fact Check TV in partnership with NBC7 San Diego examines an inaccurate claim by San Diego Unified school board trustee Shelia Jackson.
Jackson tried to distance herself and the school board from a scrapped plan to close schools and save $5 million next year. She said the school board never told district staff which criteria should be used to determine possible closures. That isn’t true. The trustees unanimously approved the criteria last July.
Because it’s reasonable to expect Jackson likely knew her claim was incorrect and made it anyway to gain an advantage, we pegged the statement with our worst possible rating, Huckster Propaganda.
