From the Reporter
What We Know
Wildlife Services has killed more than 18,000 animals in San Diego County since 2005, including some of the county’s most dynamic species like mountain lions and bobcats, songbirds and ducks.
What We Want To Know
We want to know why each animal has been killed, where it was killed, whether any deaths were avoidable and why dozens of animals were killed despite not causing any threat.
What We Don’t Know
The U.S. Agriculture Department provided scant details in response to our legal request for records, making it impossible to independently verify whether its trappers are acting judiciously, reasonably and legally.
