With the departure of our editor, Andrew Donohue, VOSD Radio has a new co-host: our investigative reporter Will Carless.

In the latest edition of the radio show, Carless and CEO Scott Lewis discuss a few big storylines: controversial local school bonds and the state of the mayor’s race as we get closer to Election Day.

They also look at one of our recent “reality checks” on local officials’ past cautions in a new series we’re doing. Here’s the statement Lewis and Carless break down, by the San Diego Airport Authority in a brochure about why a new airport was key: “Projected take-offs and landings are expected to increase to as much as 260,000 a year by 2015 — 30 percent more than today.” Voters in 2006 rejected a ballot measure proposing to move the airport to Miramar.

Plus, find out why VOSD Radio named Dan McAllister, the county treasurer-tax collector, as the Hero of the Week and Pinocchio as the Goat of the Week. Listen here.

VOSD Radio also airs on Newsradio FM 95.7 and AM 600 KOGO on Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. Subscribe to the podcast here.
