Politifest 2012 is back this weekend: Saturday, Sept. 29 at Ingram Plaza in Liberty Station. In the latest edition of VOSD Radio, Scott Lewis and Will Carless run down what you can expect on stage: a chat with congressional candidate Scott Peters, a mayoral debate between City Councilman Carl DeMaio and Rep. Bob Filner, a debate among the San Diego Unified school board candidates in different races, the Idea Tournament and a discussion about a proposed school construction bond, Proposition Z. Plus, there will be a beer garden, a kids area and community booths. KOGO will also be broadcasting live from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. VOSD members can attend a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. (Not a member yet? You can join now here).

Other topics Lewis and Carless dug in on:

• What’s involved in the Chargers stadium search after DeMaio wouldn’t say who is on his stadium task force.

• A two-part Fact Check on claims by Filner about funding for veterans.

• How we could not independently verify some of DeMaio’s statements about bipartisan backing.

Plus, find out why VOSD Radio named Assemblyman Ben Hueso and former President Bill Clinton as the Heroes of the Week, and Poway Unified School District Superintendent John Collins as the Goat of the Week. Listen to it here.

VOSD Radio also airs on Newsradio FM 95.7 and AM 600 KOGO on Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. Subscribe to the podcast here.
