I’ll be spending all next week in Encanto, Valencia Park, Emerald Hills, Paradise Hills, Skyline and the other southeastern neighborhoods that make up San Diego’s Fourth City Council District.
The goal is to explore issues important to voters in advance of the March 26 special election to replace Councilman Tony Young, who resigned at the end of last year to run the local Red Cross. The following week, I’ll be interviewing the candidates hoping to succeed Young about what we’ve learned and their reasons for running.
I’m going to start by hanging out Monday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Starbucks at 350 Euclid Ave. in Market Creek Plaza. Please stop by to share your thoughts with me about District 4. And if you can’t make it Monday, you can email me your District 4 concerns at liam@vosd.org or just come find me. I’ll be around the community all week.
I’m looking forward to sparking a robust conversation about what the district and the city needs from its next council member.
