There’s a lot to digest this election season.

Along with the many statewide propositions to vote on and school board members to pick, voters in the 52nd District will choose between Rep. Scott Peters and Carl Demaio, in one of the most closely watched races in the nation.

The race is dead-even, and it’s gotten even more heated as both candidates sprint for the finish line. On Wednesday, former City Councilwoman Donna Frye asked Demaio to stop dropping her name.

In this San Diego Explained, VOSD CEO Scott Lewis joins NBC 7’s Catherine Garcia to explain two big propositions — Prop. 45, which would give the state insurance commissioner power to regulate health insurance rates, and Prop. 47, which would reduces penalties for certain non-violent crimes — and to hash out the last few days of the 52nd District race.
