On this San Diego Explained, NBC 7’s Catherine Garcia and Voice of San Diego’s Scott Lewis give us a rundown of the threads to keep an eye on over the next 12 months.

First up, the City Council was supposed to take up the proposed One Paseo development project at the end of this month. The vote’s delayed, but in the meantime, conflict over the community’s future is hovering around a fever pitch. Kilroy Realty, who designed the multi-use layout, is unwavering.

Drama in St. Louis between the mayor and the Rams owner has Chargers fans tugging at their collars. The city may want to negotiate with the team to keep them in St. Louis – that is, to keep them from jumping ship to build a stadium in the L.A. area. That’d mean serious competition for the Chargers down south. Rams owner Stan Kroenke isn’t taking the mayor’s calls.

Also on our radar: SeaWorld’s efforts to win the hearts and minds of animal lovers, a potential change in ownership and structure for the U-T and what kinds of jobs we’re seeing falter and grow in San Diego. Check out the clip for more.
