A new batch of votes this week finally settled the fate of tightest races and local ballot measures.

It seems that San Diego Unified School Board Trustee Sabrina Bazzo barely held on to her seat. Challenger Crystal Trull came close, closer than she has before, but still it wasn’t enough.

Measure E likely failed. That’s the ballot measure that would have increased the city of San Diego’s sales tax from 7.75 percent to 8.75 percent. What does that mean for the city facing a growing budget deficit in the coming years? Our hosts explain on the latest VOSD Podcast episode.
