When the city meets or talks with members of the NFL about keeping the Chargers in San Diego, Mayor Kevin Faulconer always indicates that things are going extremely well. A press release with bullet points often follows those interactions and that’s all anyone really knows about the details of what’s being discussed.

Until now.

This week, Voice of San Diego obtained the term sheet, or a legal document spelling out how a new stadium deal would work, that the city sent to the NFL in September. We also got the response from the NFL to the city, which included a list of concerns about the proposed stadium deal.

Voice of San Diego member and lawyer Felix Tinkov helped Voice get those formerly secret documents from the city. He joined the podcast this week to explain how he’s been so successful shaking loose public documents in this and other instances.

Scott Lewis and Andrew Keatts also discuss the Union-Tribune parent company’s staff buyout offers and explain an update on the so-called Citizens Plan, the proposed ballot measure that would overhaul the city’s hotel tax.
