Two more groups have joined the battle against a new international airport at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

Check out their acronyms:

ROAR!

SOM-NOM!

ROAR! – that’s Revolt Over Airport Relocation! or Residents and Organizations Allied for Realignment! – has aligned with Taxpayers for Responsible Planning, a group led by Alex Barron and T.J. Zane. (We’re not sure how they came to have two names, either.)

SOM-NOM – that’s Support our Military, No on Miramar (we added the exclamation point earlier) – has been formed by the San Diego Military Advisory Council, a group that splintered from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Advisory Council over the airport search.
