Wednesday, March 26, 2008 | Good story on the city of San Diego’s auditor. The Union-Tribune quotes the mayor saying the auditor is independent. Hmm. The mayor hired Eduardo Luna. The mayor can fire Luna.

The June ballot measure reflects the mayor’s desire to continue to hire the auditor. I don’t buy the poverty excuse. They found $26 million for the Balboa Theatre. But no money for auditors.

Enron by the Sea lives on.
