Monday, May 19, 2008 | No on new school taxes. I voted for Prop MM, and then watched all the reported mismanagement. The waste that followed curtailed many projects. Why would giving more money to incompetents solve anything. The average homeowner is paying $500 a year for MM. When it is paid off, then we can ask for more money. The state budget has grown faster than rising revenues. The state legislature allocates the money. We are supposed to have a balanced budget. We voted for restraints and they are ignored. The state will be $20 billion in the red. Don’t try to make empty promises just to get into our wallets again. Some candidates think we are under taxed. I hope the media does its job showing each candidate’s true intentions. Those in office, who brought us these problems, should be thrown out, not rewarded with more money to squander.
