County Supervisor Ron Roberts has received a message saying that I called, according to his spokesman, Jim Duffy. No word from the supervisor himself yet, though.

I called Roberts to get his views on whether the county should release a copy of a secret report on an investigation into alleged wrongdoing at California Children’s Services, a program the county runs that provides wheelchairs and other medical equipment to children with disabilities.

I’ve been pressing all the supervisors on whether they think the document should be released in the interest of open government.

So far, Supervisor Greg Cox has told me that releasing the document would “put the taxpayers and the County at risk,” he hasn’t yet explained why that is. Supervisor Bill Horn, on the other hand, didn’t even go that far; he just declined to comment.

I’ve also put in calls to supervisors Pam Slater-Price and Dianne Jacob. No word from them yet either.
