The City Council’s audit committee on Monday will get an update on the $344,000 audit being performed by Sjoberg Evashenk Consulting. The firm’s report is not due until June; its research is scheduled to be complete in April.
City Councilman Kevin Faulconer, who leads the committee, said yesterday that he requested the update because he wanted to ensure CCDC was cooperating with the auditors. The council’s audit committee is receiving periodic updates on the audit’s progress. This will be the first update to detail what work has been done, Faulconer said.
Fred Maas, CCDC’s chairman, said the agency is cooperating and will give the auditors “complete access” to any information they seek. Maas said he’d had an introductory meeting with the auditors, who’ve requested a follow-up interview with him. “I told them: ‘Any time,’” Maas said.
