Monday is deadline day for San Diego City Council candidates’ financial statements for the six months ending Dec. 31. (I’ve updated this post from this morning after other candidates posted their statements.)
The big winner is incumbent District 2 City Councilman Kevin Faulconer. He raised $82,126.06 this reporting period and has $101,242.10 in cash on hand. His only opponent to have his statement posted, Patrick Finucane, has $3,569.26 on hand.
Other tidbits of interest from those who have posted their statements as of 5 p.m. Monday.
Incumbent Councilman Tony Young has $26,392.52 on hand in the District 4 race. Steve Hadley, chief of staff to current District 6 Councilwoman Donna Frye, is far behind former state Assemblyman Howard Wayne in that district’s election. Hadley has $3,119.24 on hand to Wayne’s $44,539.92. Another candidate in that race, Lorie Zapf, has $18,784.79 on hand.
In District 8, David Alvarez has $25,034.85 on hand and Nick Inzunza, the uncle of former District 8 Councilman Ralph Inzunza, has $492.60 on hand. The other of the two dynasty candidates, Felipe Hueso, has $774.66 on hand. Hueso is the older brother of current District 8 Councilman Ben Hueso.
Here’s a graphic on some key figures from the reports. (We’ve changed the title on the graphic to make clear that the numbers are from the six months ending Dec. 31, 2009):
