We’ve been having a lot of fun with this new caption contest feature, which is running every Thursday in Credentialed.
Today, we’re looking for readers’ most creative captions to this image of Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, which we’ve culled from our archives.
This week, we’re putting an incentive on the process. The reader who submits the best caption, whether in the comments section, via e-mail, or on Facebook or Twitter, will receive a 50 percent off coupon for one purchase in our new voiceofsandiego.org Photo Store. I’ll be the judge.
Here are some of our favorite captions from last week. It just so happens that all of our favorite messages came from Facebook this week. If you don’t remember the image of a horse taking a dip at Fiesta Island, check it out here.
From Kevin Baird on Facebook:
Can’t sell now, my investment in the ponies is underwater.
From Kristen West Pernicano on Facebook:
I guess this is far enough off the shore I can have my beer now!
From Dennis B Schell on Facebook:
Rookie Sea World trainers must serve an internship before being allowed to ride on Shamu.
And, from everyone’s favorite morning reporter, Randy Dotinga, on Facebook:
As you might expect, the photographer called later and asked the hot young thing about dinner and a movie. The horse said sure.
Very clever Randy.
