Our friends at NBC San Diego asked me about the planned public art for the new central library in Friday’s installment of Behind the Scene TV, including some of the details I’d discovered for my recent story.

Right after our conversation on Friday’s newscast, someone going by @BMF3000 commented on Twitter:

hope we get some picaso or DaVinci originals, cuz you know the City isnt broke or anything.

But remember: The estimated $700,000 to build and install the public art that has been approved is supposed to come from private donations, not the city.
