A Backyard Trend
Growing numbers of San Diegans are keeping backyard chickens, motivated by an interest in local food production.
The Catch
Though the city rarely enforces the rule, many of those chickens are illegal because fowl must be kept at least 50 feet from homes.
What’s The Big Deal?
Neighbors complain, but advocates would like the city to loosen its rules.
