It’s hard to imagine a life without computers or the internet. But that life is real for many low income families in San Diego.

HealthyCal.org, a nonprofit news website with a focus on community health in California, has been in City Heights following Trelena Thomas’ family as it gets a computer and internet service for the very first time.

Check out the first two installments of their ongoing mini-documentary series examining how the “digital divide” affects local families.
