Why is it the teacher’s responsibility to take pay and benefit cuts to pay for public education? Why aren’t you and other media outlets talking about Proposition 13 which has limited the state’s ability to properly fund education? Did you know that prior to Prop. 13 California was tenth in per student funding and now we are 47th? Why is it that other states have increased their support and we have not? Why has San Diego been tax-averse for so long? Is it because we have so much military that has no roots in this community or so many seniors who don’t want to pay for education?

The whole issue of conservative governors who haven’t kept up with funding needs of education should be castigated. Where is the reporting of the reality of this situation? Isn’t it about time to tell the truth?
